Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT):

EFT is a research-based approach to psychotherapy that can be used to change relationship patterns that get stuck in conflict or emotional distancing.  If you keep asking yourself, "Why does this fight/issue keep happening?", then EFT can address the root issues and improve deeper connection in your relationship.

EFT focuses on:

  • building emotional awareness and emotional expression
  • increases understanding of individual, and relationship needs to improve positive connection
  • helps partners stay engaged, present and connected
  • learning to regulate emotions to decrease conflict and negative patterns of interaction

Gottman Therapy:

Gottman therapy was developed by John and Julie Gottman in Seattle, WA.  These interventions are based off of rigorous research and their own clinical expertise.  The Gottman approach uses nine components of a healthy relationship they coined as "The Sound Relationship House Theory".  If you keep asking yourself, "Is this a healthy relationship to be in and how can I make it better?", then the Gottman Approach can support you.

Gottman Therapy focuses on:

  • conflict management
  • healthy communication tools
  • building friendship and intimacy
  • increase awareness of shared meaning and future goals
  • creating a foundation of trust and commitment

Common Relationship Issues:
